Church Support

Mission Endowment Fund

The Conference has been entrusted with a Mission Endowment Fund (“MEF”) to encourage church members to serve and experience going on a short-term mission. The heartbeat behind this fund is for individuals to take a step of faith, to go, “love on,” and share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him. The hope is that some short-term missionaries may be led to serve long-term in the field.

Funds from the MEF supplement missionaries and are not intended to become the core or totality of their funding.

Since its inception in 2015, the MEF has supported 80 first-time missionaries from five Conference churches (Crossway, Honolulu, San Lorenzo, Walnut Creek, and West Covina) as they took the gospel to Baja, Arizona, and Japan (Kobe, Nakashibetsu, Chiba, Sadako, and Ishinomaki).

We pray to have many more members from our various churches send individuals to the mission field! As our Lord Jesus Christ said, “The Harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into the harvest.” (Luke 10:2)

The application for the Mission Endowment Fund is available here. For additional information, contact HSC Chairman Rev. Rick Iwanaga.

Grants for Solo Pastors

Churches with solo pastors may apply for a two-year, $500/month grant to assist in hiring a second pastor. For additional information on the guidelines and applications, contact HSC Chairman Rev. Rick Iwanaga.

Church Consultants

The Conference may assist churches with shared reimbursement for church consultants, emphasizing strategic planning, team building, leadership training, and vision casting. The Holiness Shepherd Council (“HSC”) and Conference Administrative Office (“CAO”) will be responsive to any church requesting Conference assistance or entering a period of transition (e.g., pastoral change, ministry evaluation, and church relocation).

Reimbursements for church consultants require prior approval from the HSC. For additional information, contact Conference Administrator Paul Nakasuji.
